A patient of Atlanta Children’s Therapy Associates, six-year-old Catherine Reed, is a recently-named ambassador for Life House Atlanta, Inc. which is a newly formed nonprofit organization that plans to build, from the ground up, the first freestanding pediatric respite house in the state of Georgia. Life House Atlanta will be a home away from home for children with life-limiting illnesses, and will provide their families with opportunities to rest and recharge their batteries from the constant demands of round-the-clock care. The Board of Directors of Life House Atlanta intends to provide extended respite at no cost to families for up to 30 days a year. Cindy, Bill and their entire team are cheering for Catherine as she embarks on this project which will elevate the state of Georgia into one of the most hospitable states for children with special needs and their families.
On Sunday, October 2 from 4 pm to 6 pm at The Springs Cinema and Taphouse, Life House Atlanta will host the premiere of Unseen, an award winning documentary that features the plight of parent caregivers in the United States. Aungelique Proctor, reporter for Fox5 News, will emcee, and interview the film’s producers, Amanda and Tom Dyer. Special guests include two families of special needs children and Kyle Pease, the Chief Inspirational Officer of the Kyle Pease Foundation.
Each attendee will receive a delicious bitty pie from Darden’s Delights.
